Pinisi for the Country (Pinisi bagi Negeri) at Losari Beach

Pinisi (from Wikipedia)
The pinisi or phinisi is a traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing ship. It was mainly built by the Konjo tribe, a sub-ethnic group of Bugis-Makassar mostly residents at the Bulukumba regency of South Sulawesi but was, and still is used widely by the Buginese and Makassarese, mostly for inter-insular transportation, cargo and fishing purposes within Indonesian archipelago.

If you happen to pass in front of losari beach you will easily see a pinisi boat moored at the floating dock of losari main pavillion.

This pinisi is sponsored by one of the large automotive company in Indonesia and is a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in coral reef conservation, and education development of maritime culture and environmental conservation in Makassar. This ship is used to sail around Samalona Island, to plant coral reefs.

I sketch this pinisi boat using Lamy Fountain pen and later colored it with Faber-Castell watercolor pencil.
This is the first time I use watercolor pencil. The result is clearly far from being good.😅
